ABOUT

CAMPSITE

Camping Rivabella is an authentic, simple, but certainly cozy campsite. Our campsite is truly beautiful with its direct location on Como Lake, precisely Garlate basin. It covers 2.3 hectares and is located in the south part of Lecco in the direction of Bergamo (exit Lecco-Bione , highway SS36 Milano-Lecco).

We have a little shop where fresh bread and tasty croissants are available every morning. We also have a bar with a big shaded terrace in front of it, where you can enjoy delicious coffee, focacce, panini and tasty prepared meal and use our free Wi-fi! Close to the terrace, children can have fun in a park equipped with two playgrounds. The campsite offers clean sanitary facilities and washing facilities.

Our camping site has wide shaded pitches under big trees directly on the beach, with a stunning view on the lake. The private beach, with crystal clear water, is equipped with a dock with a fantastic trampoline and is supervised by our lifeguard! If you want to bring your boat, no worries: we also have a small harbor with a slipway. In addition, you will also have the chance to rent canoes and pedaloes or join a surf and sailing school at our campsite. You will definitely have a lot of fun in the water! But, if you just want to relax and sunbath on the beach, you can use our sun-bed or our floating platforms!

ENVIRONMENT

The lively center of Lecco is in 4 km distance and provides everything, including several supermarkets, restaurants, shops, bicycle and car rental, a train station (very useful to travel to Milano, Bergamo and Como) and a ferry port, from where you can reach all the touristic town of Como Lake, such as Bellagio, Menaggio and Varenna.

Just outside the camping-site, along the lake, you will find a nice bicycle and pedestrian road to the center of Lecco, north of the campsite, that crosses an old fisherman village (Pescarenico). It is also possible to follow the other lovely cycle road, on the opposite direction, until the other side of the lake. You will end up biking the Garlate basin! When you follow the path long enough to the south, along the Adda River, you can even reach the center of Milan!

Lecco is a good starting point for visiting beautiful cities around the area (Lombardia), such as Bergamo, Milan, Como, Bellagio, Varenna , Tremezzo and Cadenabbia. A little further, but definitely worth visiting is Verona, well known as the city of lovers for the Shakespeare Drama “Romeo and Juliet”. In addition to these cities, the region is also well-known for its lakes, including Lago di Como, Lago Maggiore, Lago di Lugano, Lago d'Iseo and, of course known by most tourists, Lago di Garda. Besides, the campsite is surrounded by the Pre-alps, also known as the Milan Dolomites, which make the area very attractive for hiking, cycling and climbing enthusiasts!

THEN AND NOW

We, Sandro and Alberto Malzanni, are the proud owners of Camping Rivabella, which was created and founded by our parents, Giuseppe and Anna Malzanni, on June 10th, 1963.

The first guests came from Northern Europe by car and stayed in tents. They fell so much in love with the beautiful lake and the rugged mountain that some of the families from that time are still coming at Rivabella every year to spend their summer holiday.

The Camping site has started with just a modest piece of land and has expanded over the years to provide space for more guests, both daily and seasonal. In the meantime, the environment around the campsite has also improved considerably, providing the campsite a very central location and a perfect starting point for trips in this beautiful area. Since 2014 the camping site has been divided into two parts by the edification of a cycling / walking path, which has certainly improved leisure activities and tourism.

Together with our family and friends we are working at the campsite, striving to maintain simplicity, authenticity and create a relaxed holiday atmosphere. We do our best to meet everyone's wishes and we would love to welcome you at Camping Rivabella!
